Websites for Massage Therapists

A recent 2007 ABMP member survey reports that only 26.8% of massage therapists are using a website to promote their massage practice.  The top method for getting new clients (44.4%) is through referrals, 55.2% is through brochures and flyers, 47.5% is through networking.

If you are doing one of the most popular things to advertise your massage practice such as getting referrals, brochures and flyers and networking - you are missing out on using a Website to make those methods of advertising more effective. If you are sending out brochures or attending a networking function without a website address to follow up with and provide more information to your potential client, you are most likely wasting a good deal of money on those tools.

Having a website will allow you to provide more information about what you do, your philosophy on health and healing and build trust with potential clients.  You will be able to tell people what it is exactly that you do and stand for.  In doing this, you will give potential clients the opportunity to choose you based on you having something that they want.  People are looking for a solution to their problem, but they also need to feel comfortable with who you are and what you value.  When you can attract those people with the same values and philosophy as you, you will have a better chance at finding and working with your ideal client.  Your ideal client is one who values your service and what you do.  Working with your ideal client will save you time and energy and make your work and your business more successful.  You will also be increasing your chances of success because one of the reasons why massage therapists are not successful is due to burnout which is caused by people working with less than their ideal client.

Another thing that a website can do for you as a massage therapist is take the effort and stress (fear) out of marketing your practice.  So many massage therapists fail to market themselves successfully because they just don't want to.  They would rather just be doing massage!  Having a website that works for you -one that gets your site to the top of the search engines and gets the potential client to call you takes the stress out of marketing.  You can then just focus on what you do best - the massage part!

So if you are ready to start using a website to build your massage practice.

Let me know what questions you have or if you need help in getting a website started.  I am offering to help you start an 8 page website for just $500 (plus the cost of the SBI program for $299 a year).  For more information on hiring me - just fill out this contact form on my other site - www.workless-playmore.com.
