One of the goals in building a website is to promote your business.  One way to do that is to work with the search engines to drive traffic to your business.  I have been online with this website (www.thebodyworker.com) since 1999.

When I first started I tried to read everything I could about search engines and how to optimize my pages to build traffic.  There are many great resources out there, but I am doing this in my spare time, with my learn as I go method, I quickly gave up on trying to get my webpages to the top of the first page.

When people go online with their businesses, they often expect that the search engines will just automatically put their pages on the first page of a search result and instant traffic will happen.  This couldn't be farther from the truth.

But there are some really simple things you can do to get found.

  • Create a xml sitemap and submit it to the search engines.

I couldn't afford a web expert so I settled for something better - Sitebuildit!   They do it all for you without having to worry about it.  Every page you create with their software is analyzed for search engine optimization and they will tell you what corrections are needed.  They also take care of most all of the submitting to search engines. (Yes you have to tell the search engine you are online!)

If you want to take the time and figure out search engines yourself, you can start with www.searchenginewatch.com

For more information on how to submit your pages to the search engines.

Or you can just let Sitebuildit! do everything for you with every one of your pages!!
