Building a Web Presence

A web site is the best tool for sharing who you are with the world and creating a successful business. The success of your website will depend on a few technical details such as how easy it is to use and follow and how search engines will find it.  People searching the web are looking for information that will solve their problem or help them make decisions. The number one thing that will drive clients to your website is developing Content that provides that information!

The purpose of a website for a service oriented business is to educate clients as to who you are and what solution you will provide for them.  They want someone who they feel safe with.  They want someone they can trust.  Building trust involves creating a relationship.  Building relationships through building a web presence involves developing a vision of who you are and what you do.  Building content is crucial and is based on how you talk about what you do.  People want information.  They want to know about what caused their musculo-skeletal issues and pain.  They want to find someone who can help with their pain. They want someone to take care of them. They want to get in touch with their inner selves.

How are you going to communicate who you are and what you do to potential clients and others that you are developing a network with?  Ken Envoy in his free  "Service Sellers Masters Course"  talks about figuring out what solution do you provide as one of the keys to building a great service business. The other key to a successful website is  building high quality content.

People who find you from search engines on the web or from your URL that is listed on your business card are looking for more information.  They have some need that they are trying to find a solution for.

I am so tired of hearing about the same old benefits of massage.  I am tired of looking at lists of different kinds of techniques that massage therapists know. Most people don't have a clue what cranio-sacral massage is nor do they really care. (ok, there may be a few who know what this is and are looking for this specifically.) Most people don't care if their circulation is increased or not.  People already know they are stressed out, but don't really care to do anything about it until a problem starts which is usually in the form of pain.

Most people who are looking for a massage are looking to resolve some kind of pain issue, some kind of musculo-skeletal issue or some kind of stress induced condition.  Most people already know that they are under stress but they don't really have time to address it.  They don't really understand what stress does on a deep internal level.  What can you tell them about what you do and how you can provide such a solution?  Most people are looking for nurturing and a safe environment to be touched (although they may not even realize they have that need).

Some of the ways that you can build trust and provide information is through a building great content!  Write articles about pain and common dysfunctions that you specialize in treating.  Write a regular newsletter to let people know who you are and what you do.  Write a mission statement and an informed consent statement.

Writing about the things that you do involves knowing about yourself. One of the best ways to keep develop awareness of yourself is through the process of writing and the process of peer supervision groups.

Building a website is really easy these days.  You don't need to have any technical experience when you use Sitebuildit!  I have been on the web since 1999 and this is the only service I recommend.  When you purchase a website through Sitebuildit!  I will help you with any questions you have.
