Self MassageDoing Self Massage can help relieve tight muscles and pain. It doesn't really compare to a real massage by a professional massage therapist but it can help. Massage Tools will help you because trying to use your own strength to massage is defeating the purpose of doing the massage for the most part. These are some of the great tools that can help. My favorite is something called 'The Stick" and it is used by many athletes.
Some other ideas for self massage are using simple home objects such as tennis balls, golf balls or super balls to roll on in various ways on various body parts to relieve tension. Take two tennis balls and tie them into the foot part of a sock. You can use the tennis balls to lie on or place on the wall and roll on them up and down your back on either side of the spine. You can stop and rest on point in particular that are problematic. You can also take pieces of PVC Pipe about an inch or so in diameter and use it roll on the floor on your sides to get the outer side of your legs and hip areas. This can be quite tender but effective. Use golf balls to roll on the bottom of your feet. Use a rolling pin until you can get "The Stick" from above to roll on your legs and hips.
