Meridians for Bodyworkers/Massage Therapists
Test Questions TCM All other test questions
The Only reason I am adding this section is because it is required by the National Certification Board. In my opinion, it is totally ridiculous to ask such questions on an exam that is supposed to measure basic massage skills. Knowing the meridians can enhance your techniques, but is not necessary by any means. A beginning therapist may know where the lines are but that in no way guarantees they know how to use them. I also find it interesting that people just seem to go along with this and take the word of the NCBTMB about this. This does not mean that I don't appreciate eastern techniques and philosophy. I think that if someone wants to study meridians and understand Chinese medicine I would highly recommend a complete 3 year training as an acupuncturist or Oriental Medicine Doctor. If you are so inclined, Please protest the requirement to NCBTMB. There are many websites already out there that address the meridians. Here are a few that I have found. http://www.acumedico.com/meridians.htm -has pictures of meridians and points http://www.qi-journal.com/tcmarticles/acumodel/listpoints.asp or to search go to www.google.com and search for meridians or acupuncture meridians.
