I am Julie Onofrio and have been doing massage full time for 20 years and have been working with massage therapists online since 1999 when I started my first free online discussion group at Yahoo! Groups (which you can still join for free today although I don't post there much anymore.  If you want my individual attention to whatever you are dealing with, you can now get it at a reasonable cost by joining my new Yahoo! What is Supervision?

Basically, it is whatever you need it to be.  Supervision is all about you and what you need at any given time.  The concept of supervision comes from the psychology profession where it is usually a required part of their training.  Some may think it is like the supervision that you hear about at work where someone is telling you what to do.  It isn't like that at all.  No one will tell you what to do unless you are asking for advice.

Supervision is about getting your needs for talking about any and all issues that relate to your business or job in massage.  Here are some examples of things that people talk about:

• How to deal with that chronically late client
   
• What to say to do with that client from hell who is constantly challenging your boundaries
   
• How do you feel when you don't have enough clients to pay the bills each month and you fall farther and farther into debt
   
• What to do with the client that constantly brings you flowers and always tries to ask you out on a date
   
• Dealing with the frustrations of the economy and making a living (paying the bills, saving for college for the kids and retirement)
   
• Not being able to raise your rates every year to compensate for the cost of living increases that you incur.
   
• How to set your fess so that you are successful yet have a steady flow of clients
   
• Learn how to talk about what it is that you do so that you can promote your business successfully.
• Learn how self care is the most important part of creating a successful massage business or job and that by joining this group you are taking one of the biggest steps in your self care plan!

So Supervision is all about YOU!  It is a place where you can share your struggles and ideas with others. 

Whatever you are faced with you have the internal abilities to deal with every situation and succeed in a career in massage.  You also can be making $50,000 a year and even $100,000 a year if you want to be.  Uncovering the psychological blocks that keep you stuck always under-earning can be reveled in supervision.

The size of the group will be limited to 50 people. 

This online group will help in in every step of starting and building your massage business or in finding or creating your ideal massage therapy job.  You will be personally mentored and supervised by me for every question and discussion.  I have been doing this for free basically in my Yahoo Group - massage practice builder and you can still join that for free but I am not answering questions there as much anymore. 

This will be in the from of a private Yahoo! Online Discussion Group.  (If you are not familiar with Yahoo! Groups - it is a software system that lets you send messages to the group, post files and share information. Instructions will be sent upon joining. )  Discussions can be sent directly to your email box or you can login each week and read the discussions and post there.  The more you participate, the more you will get out of it.
