How to Start an Online Business

Learning how to start an online business is not for everyone.  It doesn't happen overnight nor is it really easy.  The process is time consuming and requires in depth planning.  But it can be done with patience and persistence.

1. Research possible business ideas by looking at online trends and find out what people are searching for.  You can use Google Trends or go to places like the dmoz.org directory or ezinearticles.com.   Research topics that you know a lot about and are passionate about - hobbies, technical information, sports, specialized knowledge that you have - just about anything can be made into a profitable topic.
    
2. The best topic will be one that there are a lot of people also looking for information on that topic and has the lowest supply of websites that provide that information.  To find the supply information search for your keywords using Google with your keyword in "quotes" like this.  Using quotes will tell you how many sites are using that keyword specifically. You can find out how they are using it in their website too by doing these extra searches:
   
    
3. Choose a topic to promote based on a combination of what you are passionate about and what the numbers show potential for.
    
4. You can use a website to promote affiliate products or if you don't have the money to invest in a website to begin with you can learn to use article marketing and free resources to raise money for a website.
    
5. Use article marketing to also promote the website.  One of the keys to getting traffic is to get a large quantity of backlinks going to your site from other sites. 
    
6. Repeat process and choose another product.
