Why do you need a Website?

There are three main reasons why a business needs to have a website :

  1. Attract new clients.

  2. To build credibility
  3. To Sell products or services.

With the internet being what it is today, the chances of someone finding you online is like trying to find a needle in a haystack unless you know what to do.  Your website needs to be in the first or second page of search engine results when someone searches for “massage, in your hometown”.  The ideal position is the first two spots on the first page.  The information that the search engines list in the results also has to be able to get the person to click on your page.  It is really difficult to do, but there are certain things you can

do to increase your chances of getting to the top.  It will take some careful planning

 and some introspection.

After you get yourself to the top pages of the search engines the focus becomes getting the click through to your website and then getting the client to call.  What the search engine results show are parts of your content of your website and relevant keywords.  You can influence what the search engine shows in the results by properly formatting your pages (see section 4)

The process of creating a website also contains in it all of the components of what you need to do when creating a business plan for yourself.   So when you create a website, you actually are getting clearer about who you are and what you want and creating an intention to get just that. Whether you are creating a website on your own or hiring someone to do it for you, the best thing you can do is take the time to prepare and research your niche to build a solid foundation for your business.

If you don’t have any computer or website experience the technical aspects may seem overwhelming at first, but if you just try to take it step by step until you get to the end you will see how easy it really is.  Many parts will become clearer as you actually take the steps outlined here.
