Building Content.

My challenge to you - Create content without using these words –The “benefits of massage” or the “History of massage”.

Creating quality content is key to creating a website that works.  You don’t need to be a writer, but you do need to provide information and lots of it.   The internet is a place for finding

information - people are searching for a service that will help them with what ever problem they are having.   They want to know if you can help them with whatever that is that they have.  They are searching for information.  There are so many reasons why people come for massage and there are many different styles and techniques that you know.  Basically people don’t really even know about the different styles and they really mean nothing if it isn’t connected to how it can help them.

Creating in depth content that tells a story of who you are, what you do and how you are going to help solve their problem is what is needed.

Once you get a solid keyword list, then you can create content based on those words.

To build a website that works you need to have at least 20 pages of content to start with and it is also necessary to always be adding more.  You may be feeling quite overwhelmed right now wondering what you are going to write about.  Be assured that the writing doesn’t have to be perfect text book edited information.  Just think about the things that you say everyday to clients and start writing about it all.  Start thinking about what it is that you really do with clients, something beyond what classes and techniques that you know.

If you are really stuck, try downloading the free Netwriting Masters Class that will help you to just write the way you talk.  This isn’t about knowing marketing or creating a catchy phrase.  It is just talking to potential clients the way you would talk to them in person and telling them about yourself and what you do.

Some suggested topics:

  • Fibromyalgia and massage

  • What to do if you are in a Motor Vehicle Accident (MVA)

  • Beyond touch – what massage is really doing (not the typical benefits of massage)

  • Back pain and massage

  • Neck pain and massage

  • Tendonitis and massage

  • Platarfaciaitis and massage

  • Pain – the message from our bodies

  • Water for health

  • Stretches for everyday health

  • Healthy computing

  • Whatever modality you specialize in needs as many pages as you can think of.

  • Taking time for yourself

  • Stress – what it really is, how to deal with it more effectively.

(Developing a list of keywords is covered more extensively in the free Service Sellers Master Class.)

Standard content pages

  • Address, phone number and contact info should be on every page somewhere preferably the top or bottom

  • List of services, prices, office hours, contact information

  •  Forms – intake forms, insurance verification forms etc

  • Policies and Procedures – late fees, cancellation fees,

  • ·Frequently asked questions page – Do I have to get undressed for a massage? What do I wear?  What do I need to bring?

  • · Suggestions for getting the most out of your massage

  • · Sell gift certificates

  • · Sell other items through affiliate programs or your own products.
