Body Mechanics for Massage Therapists

Your body is your tool for doing massage.  Using it properly will make you a more effective massage therapist and help you stay healthy to be able to do massage for many many years.  If you are in pain from doing massage, you are doing something wrong.

Improper body mechanics is part of the formula.  Having a strong body is part of it too.  But the biggest part is how you take care of yourself when not doing massage.

Do you get a massage each week?  Do you exercise and take time for relaxation?  Do you practice a centering type of movement such as Yoga, Pilates or Tai Chi?
