Multi-level Marketing
Are they for you?

Some of the companies that make and sell the various water filter systems depend on the Multi -level marketing system and promise big opportunities. I have always had resistance to MLM, because of the high expectations people have when joining such systems.
My other concern is that every interaction you now have with any person you meet becomes influenced by the fact that you can make money selling the product to someone else. When you meet people and have an underlying agenda it influences the interaction.
For massage therapists and other health care providers trying to sell a product to clients, the potential to violate the therapeutic relationship is too high in my personal view. While it can be done professionally, there will always be a challenge to keep the client/massage therapist relationship one of a safe container to allow healing. Clients who are in a state of transference and even friends and potential buyers, want to believe in anything that will give them hope in feeling better, reducing aging and stress.
Massage therapists often try to explain that selling products is just another source of income. While that is true, at what cost do you sell the products? At the risk of losing a client when you start trying to get them to "do the business"?
Most network marketing companies go about selling their products in the wrong way. Site Build It , the business development and website system that I use, recommends creating a content rich site that does not totally depend on the product or company. In fact, they have a contest going on right now that has specific requirements like you can't even mention the site in your website but you can write all about the product, the health benefits etc and build enough trust in people so that people will be wanting whatever it is that you are selling and will be contacting you to buy the product rather than you always having to use the MLM push techniques. As a matter of fact, they have teamed up with Ann Sieg whose Free Ebook "The Seven Great Lies of Network Marketing" is changing the way network marketing works.
While the thought of being able to make an income in such businesses is always appealing, there are other ways to make additional residual income. I was thinking about becoming a distributor of one of the alkaline water systems and I decided to put up a few pages to start with (using everything I have learned from Site Build It!) on this website to see what interest I could generate. I found while I was thinking about it, I already made money with the google ads on the pages I have about water!!
There are also so many different ways to become and stay healthy and most have more to do with how you take care of and honor yourself, than what type of water you drink. It is more about the beliefs you hold about yourself as the beliefs cause as many toxins in the body as the air pollution and other toxic elements in our environment.
