We all need to drink water, so we may as well drink the best.
But what is the best?
The bottled water craze!
The water filter system
craze!
All this water and we don't really know what is best.
The plastic bottles supposedly leach toxins into the water, as I am sure you
have already heard from all of your concerned friends via email. (Whether it is
true or not, all I know is that bottled water usually tastes bad and is found to
be acidic.) Our tap water is polluted, tastes bad and who knows who is really watching
over our water sources.
After a massage, one of the things that needs to be done is to drink more
water or you may end up feeling worse than when you started.
I always ask client how much water they are drinking. I am always
surprised by the answers.
"Oh I am drinking a lot - 2 glasses a day".... or "I drink
juice in the am and coffee and usually a soft drink with lunch".
That just doesn't cut it.
How much do we really need? The information
varies. 8 glasses? 100 oz?
What we do know is that water is needed to run every cell of our body.
75 % of our bodies are composed of water. The brain is 85% water or so says Fereydoon Batamanghelidj, M.D
of www.thewatercure.com
and author of the "Water: For Health, for Healing, for Life: You're Not Sick, You're
Thirsty!" and "Your Body's Many Cries for Water".
Kangen water is
a type of alkaline water has been popular in Japan for 30 years and is gaining popularity
in the US with the Enagic Company opening offices in Seattle, LA, NY.
There are also many other companies making filters less expensively. The cost of various alkaline (kangen) water filter systems
vary with Enagic being one of the most expensive. I am writing
up
a comparison chart of the various water systems.
Kangen water is alkaline and antioxidant water.
Alkaline Water Systems also creates something they call Strong Kangen and
Strong
Acid Water which is used for cleaning and sanitizing. The Cleaning
properties make it environmentally friendly while reducing the cost of cleaning
products.
Also with the popularity of the
pH miracle diet and
acid/alkaline diets, the water is an easy way to support a healthy lifestyle.
The cost is quite prohibitive and the health claims are contradictory.
If one spends a few thousand dollars on a machine and still eats cookies
everyday it seems to me you could be healthy if you just ate healthy (alkaline)
foods and eliminated the sugar, wheat and dairy products that are causing the
ill health. Of course we all know how difficult that has become since we
are bombarded constantly with sugar and other unhealthy additives. The pH
miracle diet and just plain drinking enough water as Fereydoon Batamanghelidj, M.D of
www.thewatercure.com and author of the "Water: For Health, for Healing, for Life: You're Not Sick, You're Thirsty!" and "Your Body's Many Cries for
Water" talks about. Just drinking enough water can help digestive
problems and fatigue.
